Pre-Calamity to beginning of a Realm Reborn
Sixth Astral - Seventh Umbral Era
YEAR 1559 - 1577
Kiht's age 0-18
In the fall of the year 1559, the 7th day of the fifth astral moon, Kiht was the second daughter delivered to her mother Yahwih Nbolo, four years after her older sister Ehtoh. The Nbolo family (consisting of Yahwih's two sisters and her own mother) lived on the fringes of the South Shroud and Eastern Thanalan on the lower paths. Though they were quite a hike from Gridania, Yahwih and her sisters all were a part of the Twin Adders as soldiers, the bulk of the child rearing left to Kiht's grandmother.Kiht's youth was spent exploring the reaches of the south shroud, exploring the ruins of Amdapor (much against the will of her grandmother), and causing trouble in Buscarron's Druthers. Her older sister Ehtoh was Kiht's voice of reason since she had none, making sure she didn't do anything that would actually put the two of them in danger. But more often than not she would indulge Kiht in her adventures, enjoying the simplicity of their youth away from the conflicts that plagued most of Eorzea before the Calamity. The day of the Calamity happened to be the day Kiht (13 years old) was separated from her sister, finally being caught by the Wood Wailers after she had let loose a wild boar into the Druthers, sending Buscarron into a fury. Her mother and aunts had been recruited to the front lines of the battle of Carteneau, Ehtoh and her grandmother remained in the South shroud, while Kiht had been taken back to Gridania for a thorough scolding.
Once dalamud broke open and released Bahamut, the destruction left in his wake killed many of the frontline soldiers, Kiht's mother and aunts among them. With fire raining down from the sky, Kiht could only watch as the shroud burst into flames around her, detained from returning to her family because it was too dangerous. After Bahamut was contained, and the calamity had settled, Kiht finally was able to return to the shroud to find it had been razed by fire from the showers of destruction Bahamut had cast down unto Eorzea. Her home was in ashes, and neither her sister or grandmother were anywhere to be found. She had spent days and days searching, asking, but they were, as far as she knew, gone. Assuming the worst, Kiht wandered the shroud aimlessly in a catatonic state. Weak from starvation and walking without rest, she broke into a Keeper's family camp one night and gorged herself on their food, and passed out on the floor. She was found by Towi Mhadalo, a young mother of the Mhadalo family group. Towi convinced the other women of their group to let Kiht stay and recover, seeing her condition she was in no state to be independent at such a young age. Their section of the East shroud was less damaged than other sections, their resources not as limited, so they allowed her to stay. Kiht was assigned the job of helping the family's grandmother watching over the family's kits. The job gave Kiht a purpose that she so desperately needed. She became a part of the family not even a year after the calamity had passed, the Mhadalo's agreeing to take her as their ward, and thus took their family name as her own.

The Quicksand, Ul'dah
✦ A keeper with unkempt hair stands against the rail of the quicksand with a dissatisfied expression, holding something in her hands. You can't quite make out what it is, but her fiddling results in her dropping it at your feet. Looks like it's some kind of children's puzzle..._✦*You over hear a demanding drunken Miqo'te trying to barter for a drink with the barkeep. She's trying to offer her last kupo nuts for one more ale. It's unfortunate the barkeep is a lalafell, and not a moogle. Maybe you should tell her that. *
A tavern, a club, who knows where?
✦ This Moon Keeper has been dancing for hours like her life depends on it, perhaps she's been going since you got here. It's clear she's exhausted, but she is showing no signs of stopping. You fear someone one has to intervene, or she just might pass out... Or maybe you decide to join her-✦ *The strange mutterings of the keeper are continuously interrupting your train of thought while you're trying to enjoy your drink. Her ramblings seem to be fueled by the two empty pitchers of ale in front of her. She looks over to you and squints, "Whattya YOU looking at?"
